Research consultants
Playbooks for research consultants
The briefing you produce every quarter is a method with a shape. Captured as a Playbook, a client can run it when they need it rather than when you have room.
The briefing only exists when you have time to write it.
- The same sources are read, in the same order, for every engagement.
- What made the last briefing good lives in your head, not in a document.
- Demand arrives between engagements, when there is nobody to serve it.
The contract, in four lines
Every Service on YAMO publishes the same four things. Nothing here is a promise about the future: it is what a run does.
- Trigger
- On demand, or on a schedule the client sets
- Intake
- The subjects, competitors or market the briefing covers
- Artifact
- A briefing written to your structure, with its sources named
- Delivery
- Back in the account that started the run, priced per run
Common questions
Can a run read my own sources?
It reads the reference files you give the Playbook, and the Connectors you authorise. A run cannot reach anything you have not connected.
What stops the output drifting from my standard?
The Playbook is the standard: the Plays, their order and the references they read are fixed until you change them, so two runs of one version follow one method.
